They Say
Discussing hope is nothing new. Throughout history, a large group of thinkers have given a breadth of definitions, conditions, and intentions for hope. Some of them used philosophical or theological lenses to understand hope when it is detached from experience. Others use neuroscientific approaches to connect hope to patterns in our brains. Others yet use their experiences with hope (and hopelessness) to provide material examples of its manifestation in our lives. Each of these individuals have claims to expertise in the understanding of hope. In this section, we’ll explore what “They Say” and see how those frameworks interact.
